The day after the big day.

Well the big day has come and gone. I worked up until 4pm so Christmas Eve so had a drive home and a good soak in the bath ready for the grocery delivery at 7.30 but pleasantly surprised as it arrived early so gave me more chilling time before getting ready to go and visit a friend for the evening.

One of my presents from Santa was the above bath soak which no doubt will come in very useful for 2010 if 2009 was anything to go by! I think I will probably need more than one bottle though.
Sacha (above) sums up how everyone was probably feeling late last night! She took refuge in the hallway tucked behind the Christmas tree away from the family and oldies!

Christmas morning was spent taking a leisurely stroll through local fields with Paul and Sacha whilst one daughter slept (no more getting up at 5 am to see if Santa has been) and the other daughter was at work making the customers' christmas lunches a pleasant event. They raised £250 total in tips and she recieved a lovely gift of jewellery from one of her regular customers. On her return home we had a champagne and smoked salmon supper!

We wandered across the lane on our return from our walk to check out the progress being made on the newly developing building plot. Our neighbours recently auctioned off a medium plot of land with planning permission for a build as they felt that the large garden was becoming too much for them. We had no grounds for objecting but it does sadden me to see good gardening land being sold off for a buiding plot, my main gripe is that the view from our front door will now be focussed on this property rather than the fields behind where the local farmer grazes his sheep. Unfortunately views do not count for much when objecting.

The silver lining in this grey cloud however is that it has provided much needed work for Paul and he won't have to walk far to get to work!!
