Apologies for not posting recently but had a couple of crap weeks mainly related to work but not wasting my blog space on that!!
The photos on this post include Jen,Paul and Percy Pug enjoying the sunshine in the beer garden at The Horns Inn, Slitting Mill nr to Cannock Chase where we spent the weekend at the Camping and caravanning site, The weather was great for walking and we did a 6-7 mile circular walk over the chase which was surprisingly quiet for a BH weekend. Sacha is also pictured trying to cool down in the shade.
The previous weekend was spent in the 'van at Kingsbury Water Park. I have mentioned this campsite previously on my blog and it sounds delightful when described as next to the M42! but it is a little oasis as it also sits adjacent to a large nature reserve and the Frazeley Canal with the Dog and Doublet lockside pub, great on a sunny day.
The garden is beginning to fill with plants now and the mini greenhouse that the girls bought me on Mothering Sunday has been really useful to harden off the sunflowers, broad beans and sweet peas. Finished off the third wigwam today and planted out a tub of Nasturtiums but saving some to 'companion' plant with the veggies to hopefully deter pests.
This year I planted a tub of tulips called 'Pink Lady' which put on a beautiful display so now need to sort out a spot in the garden to move them to so I can enjoy them again next year.
Hope the long weekend has been good for you all.

believe me I understand about work

Love those tulips! looks like an England flag!
ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteHope you are all keeping well. My my how Percy Pug has grown...he is not a puppy any longer! Lovely photo of him with Paul and Jenny.
Your tulips are gorgeous in that photo and the other blogger is so right stating that they look just like the England flag.
I just saw the funniest thing driving through town to collect Georgina from work, an old bloke in his new car obviously lost, hadn't a clue where he was driving - almost went into the bus lane..his little Jack Russell peacefully sat in the back window on the parcel rack, oblivious to the fact that they could have crashed! No we still do not have a dog or puppy (much to the girls' disappointment.) Have planted out my tubs, baskets, pots etc but got badly bitten on hand last Thurs by those horrid black flies, cannot get my wedding ring back on because it was so swollen and painful. Had to take Amoxil for 7 days. Any casualties in your garden this spring?
Jo
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of Jenny and Paul with Percy Pug, and yes your tulips are gorgeous, fantastic colours.
Percy has grown hasn't he?
Love Jo
Sorry to read that work is bringing you down, but good to read that you have put your energy into your garden and other enjoyable activities. I like nasturtiums, but you got to watch out as they do self seed. I love the look of your blushing pink tulips and Percy the Pug looks like a right charmer.
ReplyDeleteJo, nice to hear from you, hope your hand is healing well.
ReplyDeleteMango cheeks- work will get better,it has to!
I've put the Nastutiums in tubs next to my raised beds so hopefully they won't seed everywhere :)
Percy Pug is definately a character lol
