For Friday and Saturday nights this weekend we stayed at the Camping & Caravanning Club site next to Kingsbury Water park, nr Tamworth. We have stayed here several times and enjoy the setting as it provides good walking, bird watching and there is a convenient canal side pub nearby!
The water park is accessed directly from the campsite and has something for everyone. For the bird watchers/nature lovers there are hides dotted all over with dragonflies and butterflies everywhere. There are numerous 'lakes' - some for fishing, some for yachts, jet skis and even model boats! Cycle and nature trails are well signposted and there are play areas and picnic benches throughout the park.

Also next to the park is the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal with its pretty locks and the Dog and Doublet pub (nice food). Unfortunately, Sacha (Huskie X) is not to be trusted on canal paths off lead since she took an unexpected dive into the Chesterfield canal at Easter and struggled to get out!

Above is dog and Master strolling down the tow path and Sacha enjoying the sunshine on the pitch.
We had a good weekend with the glorious weather with both evenings sat outside and even a barbie!

Hi Chickenlover! Just found you from Matron's blog. Greetings from Wyoming!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about adding chickens next spring... for eggs... and bug control. We have grasshoppers really bad here.
Looking forward to reading your posts!
Toni
ReplyDeletethanks for your comment. Go get some chickens, you will never look back, they are great company and good bug busters but keep them away from your plants!
cheers

ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteMust show Frankie the photos you have posted with Sacha on them. She adores Huskies and was pestering me to ask you to bring her to visit us. To be honest she adores all dogs and informs me that when she is old she is going to be one of those ladies who collects dogs, cats and any animals who come accross her path because she was deprived of pets when growing up. She also intends to live with us forever and ever!!! Glad that you had a great trip last weekend. Our Australian guests have just left Hereford this morning, after a glorious long weekend at our house!! Weather was amazing here as I am sure you experienced also, raining now though :-(
