Percy and Sasha getting to know each other ( at last) Sacha is not happy with the new arrival but today (finally) they have tolerated each other in the house and garden.
Percy and his proud owner, he is now nearly 16 weeks.

Earlier in the year the girls bought me some plant kits, one was for Sensitive plants (Mimosa) this plant is fascinating as it curls its leaves up when touched. It has also flowered with tiny lilac fluffy flowers and is thriving in the window bottom.
At this time of the year Michelmas Daisies are one of my favourite flowers as they attract bees, butterflies and hoverflies to name a few and look so bright and colourful when everything around is dying back.
The sunflowers I grew this year included a free packet from Amateur Gardening magazine called 'Sungold' they have a lovely composite head and are a lovely rich yellow.
The gourds that I planted have grown well, although not huge or edible they are all different and make a lovely autumnal display.
I still have chilli and sweet pepper plants in the greenhouse but they are almost finished now, my aubergines were disappointing as the plants were growing healthily, flowered but the fruits did not set so clearly a problem with fertilisation. Next year I will look at starting them off earler as I think they were sown too late in the season to get going.
The Acocha plants have grown well and have produced fruit (see above) but they are not very big, apparently they are similar to cucumbers.
The garden is still providing us with its fruits literally! Last year Paul pruned the apple trees as they had not been touched for a few years so no fruit last year, however this year is great as we have had lots of cooking apples. Not sure what variety they are as the trees were already in the garden when we moved here nearly 13 years ago. They made a lovely apple crumble.
